The Fifth Fuel
This week, heartbeat is delivered with a
new concept.
 We
heard about a new energy source of at the monthly meeting of
Clear The Air. It is estimated that the Fifth Fuel can deliver
40-50% energy saving which can be converted directly into dollar
saving. An average home with 2 adults and 3 children can save 4,000kW
hours or the equivalent of HK$4,000/year. "Rising oil prices are the
perfect excuse for second thoughts."

This is the energy saving talk we like to listen to. As it heats up
outside, everyone looks for ways to stay comfortable and maintain
productivity.
Setting aside commercial habits for a
moment, we can all keep our cool and increase savings with a few easy
habits. Switch off air conditioners when you leave a room. Close the
doors of unoccupied rooms to improve your air-con's performance. When
you've come in from the hot and sticky outdoors, change clothes and
have a quick shower the room cools quickly at a low temperature. When
you're more comfortable, adjust the air-con and keep your shorts on,
rather than dressing warmly as the room gets cold. Install a floor,
ceiling or wall-mounted fan and increase your air-con from 25 to 29
degrees. The movement of air greatly improves our comfort level at
slightly higher temperatures. Turn off air-cons an hour before you
leave. A quick shower before bed helps you chill out and reduce the
need for an arctic bedroom to help you sleep. Keep the temperature
moderate and bedding light. Indulge in some shopping and pick up some
light cotton casual wear to wear at home. We highly recommend getting
naked at every opportunity in the heat of the summer - to conserve
energy, of course.
Research suggests that we need to
repeat something only 7 times before it becomes a habit. Teaching our
children can be an incentive to improve our own habits. Making the
change into a game is a powerful tool for all of us. Pull out your
monthly energy bill today and make note of what happens to the charges
over the course of a year as you start living your new lifestyle.

trip to Egypt the land of mysteries and pharaohs and, of course, the
great pyramids. It was a special gift to myself to sign up for the trip
and, as I soon discovered, an experience that would change my life. 6
months later I was no longer running the business I had made successful
over 15 years. I was starting to set the milestones to organize and
facilitate journeys through this magical land and, eventually, to other
destinations. My aim is to share the wonderful experience and facilitate
growth and consciousness with plenty of laughs along the way. Looking
