The three-phase Tai O community revitalization project aims
to raise HK$4 million and help 100 families by 2013 - restoring stilt houses for
elderly, low-income residents; improving safety and public hygiene conditions,
setting up a job training and development centre; conducting community training
on home maintenance and introducing solar energy solutions.
Habitat for Humanity has
built more than 220,000 houses, providing for more than 1,000,000 people in more
than 3,000 communities in North America, Latin America and the Caribbean,
Africa, Europe and throughout the Asia-Pacific region with safe and decent
shelter.
