brain power

Chapter 280 | Previous | Next

This week we are thinking about thinking.

Over the weekend, we discovered the labyrinth, a simple exercise that helps balance our brain in the same way we balance our accounts.

Like it or not, our brain rules our world. Without it, we would be little more than puddles of flesh and bone.

When we are young, we learn by our own experiences and the reactions of those around us. We discover hot and cold, sweet and sour, happy and sad. From our ancestors, we inherited a response of fright, fight or flight in order to survive though our changing world presents experiences very different from previous generations.

Problems can arise when we continue to react unconsciously and feel fear in the present moment triggered by memories of previous experience that have no relevance now.

Years of training results in patterns of thinking so common they become unconscious reactions.

Many options, including meditation, counseling and coaching, help us to unearth our unconscious patterns and bring them into our awareness so we can free up energy for a creative response in place of historic reactions.

Life can become even more joyful when we approach our world as our teacher.
