Life Organic Health Café is a vibrant and happening place offering great food in inviting sanctuary experience along with lots of information on the relationship between health and wellness, the foods we eat and the environment we create.
Life serves creative, imaginative, delicious, natural and home style dishes -- made with the finest vegetables, whole grains nuts and pulses -- mouth watering juices, healing soups, splendid salads, beautiful breads and lots, lots more.
We cater for vegans and guests who request yeast-free, gluten-free, garlic & onion-free and wheat-free dishes.
We are an eco-friendly cafe and we use organic and natural products wherever we can. This philosophy extends to the cleaning materials, paints and soaps we use, the bio-degradable packaging we provide for take-away and the reverse-osmosis water filtration system we have installed.
Our purpose is to raise the awareness of how choosing the right foods and care for our environment can promote life.

It is widely documented that organic foods are higher in nutritional content than foods that have been hampered by bio-engineering, pesticides and preservatives. Organic foods are higher in essential minerals and vitamins because they come from fertile soils that have been nourished naturally.
At Life we are fully committed to being organic wherever we can. Nearly all of our dried goods are organic. All grains, pulses, beans, lentils, pasta, flours, sugars, oils, condiments, breads and yoghurt are organic. All eas, coffee, milk, coffee alternatives, wines, beer and cider are also organic.
In Hong Kong, 50 of the territory's 1500 farms are organic. All are at different stages of development and soil regeneration is the major focus. Our chef is fully committed to working with the local farmers and supporting the growth of the organic vegetable industry in our community. However, our big challenge is the climate -- very little grows in Hong Kong in the summer. Therefore, our range of organic vegetables is determined by the seasons. During winter, we have a much greater selection of organic vegetables than in summer.
Through the process of sourcing ingredients for Life, we have found that the organic market in Hong Kong is still in early stages of development. Since the demand volume is still quite low, it is difficult to utilize economies of scale. Therefore, it is a relatively expensive product for us to source. However, for reasons of health, food safety, nutrition, taste and environmental responsibility, we feel it is worth the extra investment.
We can all play our part in supporting this industry by choosing organic wherever we can.
Live simply so others may simply live.
Our philosophy of integral nourishment is about every stage in the process of getting food to your body. It relates to the source of the produce, how it was farmed, how it was prepared, cooked & served and the atmosphere in which it was ingested. At Life, we make every effort to ensure that the proper care, attention and detail is given to each of these stages.
Our nourishing food is prepared from only fresh produce and natural ingredients. We source as much of our produce as possible from local farms. In selecting the local farms, we give consideration to the quality of the soil and how mindful the farmer is about the environment. We support both organic and conversion farms (local farms participating in a conversion scheme to become fully organic.)
Integral nourishment relates not only to the raw ingredients used in our dishes -- it also relates to how the kitchen team prepares the meal. An important part of recruiting our chefs and cooks is finding people who prepare the food from their heart. We have created a family who is well-informed about our food and why we're doing what we do.
When you take the opportunity to experience the food at Life, please be mindful of the nourishment your body will receive by savoring every bite of the wholesome, fresh food. This is the final element of integral nourishment.
We hope your experience at Life will replenish your system on many levels and that our inviting ambiance will provide a welcome respite from the hugely energetic and hectic pace of life in Hong Kong. We believe that in an increasingly polluted city, the time is right for a visit to an inspiring, warm and eco-friendly sanctuary serving delicious healthy food ... in the midst of Hong Kong madness.
See you soon ...
