Freedom means different things to different people.

I find comfort in knowing that we all love and cherish our Hong Kong freedoms.

Beneath the divisions and the vandalism and the chaos is a shared desire to protect our home.

A quick look around us provides ample evidence of the millions of individual actions taken around the territory every single day. Some are community led while others are truly personal acts of contribution.

This November, we have plenty of options to contribute -- set your preferences to receive the monthly calendar by  email.

With each stroke of my keyboard, Alex Fong takes another stroke on his 45 km swim around Hong Kong in a personal fundraising effort for A Drop of Life.  Warriors like Paulo Paulino Guajajara remind us of the power of courage, dedication and personal service to nature and we can honor his memory by recognizing like the precious resource that is paper when as we turn our backs on plastic packaging.

Refuse. Reduce. Reuse. Recycle. Repeat.

Reduction is also the name of the game in resource management, as England has banned fracking while other countries place jobs today ahead of lives tomorrow. New jobs will arise in the complicated world of business recycling, lithium batteries are getting a second life in a new marketplace.

Many people devote hours of free time to play and the godfather design is turning his back on violence with the launch of Death Stranding a widely-anticipated new format where player cooperation is required in the aftermath of something big. In an industry fueled by extreme violence, I'm not surprised to hear that reviewers are confused.

Whether we value freedom of choice, freedom of expression, freedom from financial burdens, freedom of movement, freedom from packed schedules or freedom from anxiety, the freedom to be human can always be found in the reliable stillness resting deep within our own heart.

Learn to respectfully disagree. Learn from the other. Be free to be real.
