Authority

This week in Hong Kong ... naturally

This week, we are questioning authority.

Informed decisions are becoming a challenge.

Confusion is growing as information becomes abundant.

Access to straight knowledge without opinion is getting tricky.

We rely on our leaders to understand and meet our needs.

We count on those elected into positions of power.

We expect the owner to know their own business.

We trust medical professionals with our health.

We rely media operators to protect our privacy.

But the actual power lies within each of us.

We are the authority of our own mind.

Our choices are made by the minute.

We authorize our own daily routines.

It's on us what we purchase and use.

We spend our own time and money.

We decide what goes into our body.

This is the balancing act of our life.

Who is your leading authority?

On my morning walk down to the beach recently, I noticed a startling new trend in this quiet, remote, tiny fishing village – used surgical masks discarded into the river, ready to be swept into the sea with the next rain. With three rubbish bins within a one-minute walk, the senseless of this insensitive behavior left me incensed -- read more.
